Dear colleagues, dear associates and dear friends,
On behalf of the Macedonian Association of Internal Medicine, I’m happy to invite you to our Second Macedonian Congress of Internal Medicine that will take place in the beautiful city of Ohrid from May 7th to 10th.
The Congress is organized by the Macedonian Association of Internal Medicine, that in the past 15 years has built strong multidisciplinary, contemporary and collaborative approach, that integrates the key diagnostic tools in imaging modalities, alongside with many specialties focused on early prevention, diagnosis and management of modern diseases.
This year, celebrating our 15th anniversary, we are focused on our patient’s biggest threat: metabolic syndrome that inflames a pandemic.
If we ask ourselves as internists: where our patients are in the contemporary medicine while chasing AI, and where does the preventive medicine fits in, we should actually ask the postulate question: what is the paradigm of our lifestyle and our internal medicine involvement in it?
There isn’t one answer, there isn’t one specialty!
We are honored to welcome our colleagues from abroad, who will enrich the program and contribute to a successful multidisciplinary congress. Our program emphasizes the metabolic syndrome and its progression to more complex cardiovascular and metabolic conditions.
Knowing that this is not the only challenge of ours, we have enriched the Congress program with the advancing AI skills in imaging and diagnostics, that will sharpen our precision. We will explore whether metabolic pro-inflammation leads to increased risk for malignancy, providing answers to many oncological questions and the importance of epigenetic.
Last but not least important are the rare diseases, which undoubtedly demand greater awareness from us, along with deeper involvement of internists in their early diagnosis and proper treatment.
By uniting these aspects of contemporary medicine, we are looking forward to your presence and contribution to a successful congress.
